Garden Tour

Once your heart has settled you find yourself looking at Main Facade. It’s warm, friendly face. She’s a grand old dame and she’s showing her age, but we like her that way.

From here we’ll go round the side of the house and check out the garden. We come round the corner and suddenly there it is…. A panorama stretching almost the entire horizon.

It takes your breath away. How can this be? It’s difficult to take it all in.

And so we make our way down the old brick steps into the garden.

To left and right are newly planted trees and shrubs mixed in with more mature neighbours.

Suddenly all pretence at managing nature has ceased and you disappear into a wonderland of wild flowers, over grown trees and adventures….

Wildlife

The garden is full of wildlife. Geckos, of course, and things that crawl. And things that fly. Great tits, blue tits, serins, zitting cisticollas, swallows, magpies and, of course, the inevitable pigeons. And then there’s every imaginable colour of butterfly. At night the owls and bats come out. On four legs there are a number wild cats who have chosen to make this their home and when you go out first thing in the morning you can see traces of other animals who only come out at night…

But it’s best not to stay down here after dark so let’s get back to the house…
